After our group discussion, we represented our theories individually with drawing and writing:
We have continued to explore shadows and develop our theories in different ways:
Shadow sketching:
Reading stories & watching videos:

For the last three weeks our Star Name has been Gabriella. We spent some extra time investigating the letters in her name because there are 9! She also has an interesting special letter which can make two different sounds. We watched a Sesame Street video to help us think about these sounds:
On Friday we had our Elementary School Performing Arts Concert where K1 and K2 acted and danced as woodland fairies and elves. Thanks to all the families who came out to support our performance!

We also spent time observing the sky in our own environments. First we took photographs at school and created paintings from our photos: Some of us also photographed our sky observations at home: All the while, we continued to share and discuss our theories at school. Many of us also made connections as we explored other books:
Today we reflected on our visit by viewing photos and videos of our experiences. We discussed and explained our favourite light installations. We most enjoyed the light blocks, light balls, and interactive light images wall. We each created drawings and wrote descriptions for our favourite installation in our unit of inquiry journal.
We are now using our 'I wonder...' questions to collaboratively plan next steps in our learning. To support our scientific process we will be using this learning cycle as support:
