Every day in our Morning Meeting, we have a chance for sharing (showing & telling about something). Last week we discussed as a class how this routine was going. Everyone noticed that there were a lot of people sharing every day and that we were sitting for a long time. This week we started a new routine to see if we could make our sharing time shorter. Every morning, people who have something very important to share can sign their names on the "Sign up for sharing!" board. There is space for 5 people or groups of people. This has helped us to think about if what we have to share is really essential for the Morning Meeting or if there are other options for sharing our item -- like during our free play. This new routine has also encouraged us to share more about the ongoing projects we have been involved in independently or in small groups during our free choice time. There is also more time to ask our friends questions about their item or work. |

It sounds like a good idea.
