Our new unit of inquiry is part of the PYP transdisciplinary theme 'How We Organize Ourselves'. We will be exploring movement through the central idea: 'We move in different ways and for different purposes'. We started inquiring into this idea yesterday with an invitation in our Multipurpose Room. We had so much fun responding to the different equipment and exploring the different ways we can move our bodies.
After our time in the MPR, we spent time reviewing the documentation (photos, videos and teacher notes). We created drawings and wrote words in our journals to represent the favourite way we moved.
We showed our work to our classmates and discussed as a group all the different ways we moved. We have started recording our ideas about movement on a Golden Circle chart. Here are some of the movement words we used and discussed:
