As it turns out, we did learn something from each other! And many of us changed our thinking based on what our friends' had shared through drawings and conversation:
|
We then applied our new understandings to second illustrations about how shadows work:
The book Bear Shadow helped us to think further about shadows. Bear had his own theories about shadows and how to get away from his shadow. Many of us thought this was very silly! We also watched a video of Peter Pan trying to catch his shadow. We thought he too was very silly because "catching your shadow is impossible!" These two sources helped us to clarify some things about how shadows really function.

Ms. Alison also demonstrated how to form a shadow inside using the light projector and screen. We discussed our new ideas based on the video and Ms. Alison's demonstration:
Finally we created a third drawing about the FUNCTION of shadows in our unit of inquiry journals. We looked back at our first and second drawings and analysed how our thinking had changed. |
