Last week we spent some time down at the big field as a way to explore the different ways we move our bodies in big open areas. Before we left our classroom, we started a Harvard Project Zero Visible Thinking Routine called 'I Used to Think, Now I Think" by collecting our ideas about how we might move on the field. Many children contributed ideas about how we should not move our bodies, which led us to a discussion about safety (one of our PYP transdisciplinary skills for this unit of inquiry): While we were down at the field we drew pictures of our friends moving. We moved and played in so many different ways and had so much fun navigating the exciting terrain. When we arrived back at the classroom and finished our Thinking Routine by making a list of the ways we moved on the field.
