In Kindergarten 1, we learn a lot through our play! This week we continued to explore how we move our bodies in different ways by playing inside and outside. We are working on developing specific vocabulary to describe our movements. This connects to one of our mathematics learning outcomes: identifying positional language through play. |
Starting with the book We're Going on a Bear Hunt, our class began to discover special words to describe position and direction. We read and re-read the story, watched a video of the story, and had fun retelling the story through role play. Some of us continued this activity in our free play the next day! |
Starting with the words over, under, through, up, and down from the story, we began to make a big list of words that can be used to describe direction and position. We then tried hard to apply this knowledge to describe the moves we made last week on our field trip to the Adventure Playground, using the Puppet Pals iPad app to record.
